4. MARKLE (East Lothian) NO REPORT THIS WEEK

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) As the week went on, the weather went from cold, lying snow and ice to a couple of calm sunny days with milder temperatures and the fish responded to the improvement.   There were some excellent days fishing from Thursday to Saturday, despite the wind on Saturday, and some great bags were taken.   The fish are mainly in the channel and round the back of the islands and are generally around 2 to 4 feet deep.   Most were taking small lures – Cat’s Whisker and Dancer being the most popular – and some nymphs including Damsel.   A slow to moderate retrieve was required and those fishing under indicators were not doing as well as those retrieving. The Fishery is still open every day from 8.00am to 4.30pm
Amongst those doing well this week were Henry Fulton, Greenock, 3 for 14lb 8oz including 8lb 8oz Rainbow, Kyle Crossan, Stirling, 4 for 15lb including 6lb Rainbow, Danny Doherty, Denny, 5 for 21lb including 2 Golds, the bigger one at 4lb 12oz, plus 5 C&R, Nan Morrison, Stirling, 4 for 12lb 8oz and Rab Cooper, Dunfermline, 3 for 10lb 8oz including 2 Blues. Jim Spiers, Falkirk, 3 for 9lb 12oz, Alan Armstrong, Dollar, 3 for 9lb 8oz including 2 Blues and a Gold, Bill Mouat, Shotts, 3 for 9lb including 4lb Gold from the Millpond and a Blue, Douglas Kelly, Mark Sheridan, and Graeme Gillespie, Glasgow, shared 6 for 18lb 4oz and Jim McInnes, Falkirk, 2 for 8lb including a Gold.
